Here we have a fairly sizeable original ‘You foreign tourist’ .Acrylic paint on a box canvas 1m high, 80cm wide and 3.5cm deep.
This is a manifestation of something deep in my imagination, something to do with guddling around in a waterfall in Glen Lyon trying to take a photo at dusk, mixed with a desire to visit the south east corner of Iceland. Viewing always welcome as the photo does depict the lower half being really quite dark, cin reality there are a lot of subtle shades in the shadows there. Not to mention that the surface is extremely textured, with broad and flamboyant swipes of brush and knife. I have also applied a selective gloss to try and convey a further depth and mimic the surface and reflectivity of damp basalt.
