The Cobbler – Arrochar Alps
The Cobbler is perhaps one of the most photogenic mountains in the whole world. However rarely is it seen in such moody circumstances, I have wanted to capture this photo since the first time I saw it from the flank of Beinn Narnain.
“The Cobbler in fearsome mood. I was up Beinn Narnain yesterday, well near it. Lots of fresh snow… Too much in fact and my body failed me. I just wasn’t fit enough for the endless wading, I got to the spearhead (a series of epic crags at the base of Narnain) but it was ultra spicy, with snow getting blown off the crags in vast quantities and very low visibility, finding the route was nigh on impossible. I had to turn back, low on strength and confidence. I took this in a lull whilst descending from The flank of Cruach nam Miseag. 5 minutes later another white out rolled in and I was glad that I was in a place that I knew was safe to descend. .“
