Inspired from a photo by Jimi Chin of the Lhotse Couloir – Everest. This is very much an exploration in how much moulding paste it takes to build up some real 3d drama with minimal shading or colour. This thing is actually heavy, with deep texture and although very white in aspect it has subtle shades of blue running through out. I have been trying hard to convey 3 dimensional depth without using contrast and this one certainly has an interesting surface especially when light hits it from the side.
(A lot of) Arcylic on Canvas, with some pencil and a selective gloss finish. Full of energy and would really work well in a minimalist white space that gets plenty of light and I think a contrasting frame would really make it pop.
Pick up in Glasgow very much preferred, can be couriered at vast expense. Please get in touch if you cannot pick up so I can thrash out the details with you. Thanks for looking Slàinte
